Our topic today is love for one another. Paul encourages the Thessalonian church to love one another. He acknowledges that they already show love for all believers throughout Macedonia. We recall in the previous chapters how proud Paul was of their love and their strong faith, but now he’s urging them to love one another even more. This reminds us what the Lord Jesus Christ commanded his disciples when saying “So now, I am giving you a new commandment, love each other as I have loved you. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are My disciples.” This love Jesus says will prove we are His disciples, is not just human love. That is God’s unconditional love – Agape love.
