Who wrote the Book of Acts? Luke, wrote Acts which is an account of the growth and expansion of Christianity after the death of Jesus, down through to the near end of the ministry of Paul. In which period was the Acts written? Luke completed the book before either of these events occurred – between 60AD and 62AD, while Paul sat in prison. Why is Acts so important? It’s the only biblical book that records the  history of the church immediately after Jesus’ ascension.
